Who runs this site
jonasmonteiro.com is run by Jonas Castilho Monteiro, a sole proprietorship registered for GST in Karnataka, India (GSTIN 29CMXPM6001J1ZH), performing as Jonas Monteiro and, for Afrobeats and Afrohouse sets, as Jovah. "We", "us" and "our" mean that business. "You" means anyone using the site.
The site was built and is maintained by Tempestronics on our behalf. They act on our instructions and do not set these terms.
These terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. They do not need a physical or digital signature. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
Who may use it
Anyone may read the site. To submit a form (a guestlist request, a booking enquiry, a newsletter sign-up or a question to the chat assistant) you must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly accept personal information from anyone younger, because Indian law requires a parent's verifiable consent for that and the site has no way to collect it.
Entry to a venue is a separate matter. The venue decides who gets in, checks ID, and applies the legal drinking age of its state. The Guestlist Terms explain how that works.
What you tell us must be accurate
When you fill in a form, give your real name and working contact details. Guestlist names are checked at the door against what you submitted, and a booking quote is only as good as the venue, date and budget you gave us.
Do not submit someone else's details without their permission. If you add friends to a guestlist request, you are confirming they know and agree.
Acceptable use
Use the site for what it is for: finding out about shows, getting on a guestlist, asking about a booking, listening to music. Do not:
- submit false guestlist requests, duplicate requests under different names, or requests you do not intend to use;
- use scripts, bots or bulk tools against the forms, the chat assistant or the calendar feed;
- try to make the chat assistant reveal its instructions, act outside its purpose, or produce abusive, unlawful or misleading content;
- probe, scan or test the site or its functions for weaknesses without our written permission;
- upload or send anything unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or harmful, or anything that violates the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021;
- copy the site's content or design to build a competing or look-alike site.
If you find a security problem, tell us at hello@jonasmonteiro.com and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you talk about it publicly.
Content and copyright
The text, photographs, videos, artwork, logos, mixes and recordings on this site belong to Jonas Castilho Monteiro or are used with permission from the people who own them. Recordings released through labels or streaming services stay under those labels' and services' terms.
You may share links to the site and embed our official YouTube, SoundCloud and Spotify content using the players those services provide. You may not download, re-upload, sell, or use our photographs, mixes or recordings in your own work, advertising or events without permission. Promoters, venues and press should use the Press Kit and Likeness Licence, which says what is allowed and how to credit it.
Some photos and videos were shot by other photographers or by venues. Where a name is shown, that person holds the copyright and the credit stays with the image.
If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, write to hello@jonasmonteiro.com with the page address, what you own, and how we can reach you. We will look into it and respond within 30 days.
The chat assistant
The "Ask Jonas" chat on this site is automated. It answers from the published event listings, venue details and a set of written answers, using an AI language model. It is not Jonas, and it is not a person on our team.
It can be wrong. Before you travel, pay a cover charge or plan around a set time, check the event page itself or ask the venue. Nothing the assistant says is a promise, a booking, or a guestlist confirmation. Only a confirmation email from us counts for guestlist requests.
Other people's services
The site links to and depends on services we do not control:
- Venues and ticketing partners. Ticketed shows link to an outside ticketing site. Your purchase is with that seller and the venue, under their terms. Entry, pricing, refunds and conduct at the venue are the venue's decisions.
- Streaming and social platforms. YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, Instagram, Facebook and X have their own terms and privacy practices. Content embedded from them is served by them.
- Google Maps. The map of venues is drawn by Google Maps under Google's terms.
- Hosting and tools. The site runs on Netlify and uses the other providers named in the Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for those services, their content, or what they do with your information.
No promises about the site
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is. Event details change: dates move, venues close for private hire, line-ups shift. We correct the site as soon as we know, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time without notice. We do not promise that the site will be free of errors, interruptions or viruses.
Where responsibility stops
We are responsible for what we do: the information we publish, the way we handle what you send us, and the promises in these documents. We are not responsible for what happens inside a venue, which is run by the venue, or for losses caused by other people's services.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a wasted journey, lost earnings, or a missed occasion, even if we could have foreseen them.
Our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the thing the claim is about, and ₹1,000. For most visitors, who pay us nothing, that means ₹1,000.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms, for example by submitting false information, attacking the site, or misusing our content, and that causes a claim, fine or loss for us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs we incur as a result, including reasonable legal fees. This does not apply to costs caused by our own fault.
Privacy
What we collect, why, and who else sees it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. Cookies and browser storage are covered there too.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site, the law, or the way we work changes. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the next paragraph, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about the site or these terms.
If you are a consumer, nothing here stops you from filing a complaint with a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in the place the Act allows, or from using the grievance process in the Privacy Policy for data matters.
Before going to court, write to us. Most problems are fixed within a few days once we know about them.
