What a guestlist spot is
Many of Jonas Monteiro's nights run on a guestlist: you register on the event page (or through the chat), we put your names on the venue's list, and you get free or discounted entry under that night's entry policy. It costs nothing to register.
A spot is a request that we pass to the venue, confirmed by the email you receive. It is not a ticket. The venue decides who comes in, and the door can refuse entry for the reasons in the section on entry below. A confirmation from the chat assistant, a message from the assistant, or anything other than the confirmation email is not a spot.
Ticketed shows are different. Those link to an outside ticket seller, and your purchase is with that seller under its terms. These terms do not apply to them.
Who can register
- You must be 18 or over to register, and the venue applies the legal drinking age of its state (21 in Karnataka) at the door.
- Register under your real name. Names are checked at the door against what you submitted, so nicknames and initials cause trouble.
- You can register for up to 20 people. Adding friends means they know and agree to being on the list.
- Choose how you are walking in honestly: ladies, couples, mixed group or stags. Mixed groups must have an equal or higher female-to-male ratio to count as one.
- One request per phone number per event. Sending another with the same number updates the first (and sends a fresh confirmation) rather than adding a second entry.
Entry and cover charges
Each event page states its entry policy. Unless the page says otherwise, the usual pattern at our residency nights is:
- Ladies: free entry.
- Couples and mixed groups: free entry before the cut-off time shown on the event page; after it, a cover charge (typically ₹1,500 per couple) that is fully redeemable against food and drink.
- Stags: a cover charge (typically ₹1,500 to ₹2,000), fully redeemable against food and drink, where stag entry is open at all.
The cut-off time is the time you need to have arrived and checked in, not the time you set off. After the cut-off, entry for everyone is at the venue's discretion, and the guestlist no longer guarantees the free rate.
Cover charges are set and collected by the venue, not by us. Whether a charge is refundable, how a redeemable cover works, and any minimum spend are the venue's rules. We do not take money from you for a guestlist night.
At the door
- Quote the name you registered with and show the confirmation email if asked.
- Carry government photo ID. The venue checks age and may check that the name matches.
- Venue house rules apply: dress code, bag checks, right of admission, closing time. The venue can refuse or end entry to anyone who is intoxicated, abusive, or breaks its rules, and can close the list early when the room is full.
- If your group changes size, tell the door. Extra people beyond what you registered may be charged or refused.
Table bookings
Ticking "I'm interested in table booking" tells the venue you would like a table. It does not reserve one. The venue's team contacts you to confirm availability, minimum spend, and any deposit, and that arrangement is between you and the venue.
Changes and cancellations
If you cannot make it, nothing is needed from you, though a quick message on Instagram helps the venue plan. Repeated no-shows with large groups may lead us to decline future requests.
Events change. A venue may close for a private booking, a set time may move, or a night may be cancelled. We update the event page and Instagram as soon as we know, and where we can, we email the address you registered with. Because entry is free, there is nothing to refund from us. If you paid a cover charge or deposit to the venue, refunds are the venue's decision under its rules.
Conduct
These nights work because people look after each other. Harassment of any kind, aggression towards staff or guests, illegal substances, and damage to the venue get you removed and off future lists. Look after your friends, drink water, and get home safely.
Photography and filming
Our nights are photographed and filmed. By attending, you accept that you may appear in photos and video that we and the venue post on this site and on social media to promote future events. Photographers and venue staff will step back if you ask them to. If a photo or clip of you is posted and you want it taken down, write to hello@jonasmonteiro.com with the link and we will remove it from our channels within seven days.
You are welcome to take clips for your own social media. Recording or streaming a full set, or broadcasting it, is not allowed without permission from the artist's management.
Your data
What we do with your name, phone number and email is set out in the Privacy Policy. In short: the venue gets the names, group type and party size; you get a confirmation email; and the newsletter is sent only if you answered yes to it.
Responsibility
The venue runs the premises and is responsible for what happens inside: safety, security, service, and the conduct of its staff. We are responsible for keeping the guestlist accurate and passing it to the venue on time.
We are not liable if the venue refuses or ends your entry, charges a cover after the cut-off, changes its rules on the night, or for any loss you suffer at the venue. We are not liable for indirect losses such as travel costs or a wasted evening. Because you pay us nothing for a guestlist spot, our total liability to you for anything to do with it is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, with the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka having jurisdiction, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission where the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 allows. Talk to us first: hello@jonasmonteiro.com or @jonasmonteiromusic on Instagram.
